| EuroBancshares, Inc. operates as the bank holding company for Eurobank, which provides commercial banking products and services primarily to small and mid-sized businesses in Puerto Rico. The company primarily engages in generating deposits and originating loans. The companys loan portfolio comprises commercial and consumer loans, residential mortgage loans, real estate loans, lease financing, and other installment and term loans. It also offers trust and wealth management services, Internet banking, electronic funds transfers, cash management, vault services, and loan and deposit sweep accounts. In addition, the company, through EuroSeguros, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eurobank, provides automobile, property and casualty, credit life, and auto protection insurance. As of June 30, 2009, EuroBancshares operated 25 branches in Puerto Rico. The company was founded in 1979 and is headquartered in San Juan, Puerto Rico. |
